The Movie:

There are a lot of sports videos coming out on the market lately, some of them are really good, but most of them are kind of the 'same old same old' and don't really offer much replay value. 411vm (the 'vm' stands for Video Magazine) has been pumping out interesting sports videos for a few years now and has brought together some of their better discs in a well priced package that serves as a nice addition to their material for those who haven't seen it before or an affordable way for those who know it and enjoy it to stock up on some solid material.

One thing to keep in mind though, for those of you who have followed the series or bought an odd entry in their catalogue here and there throughout your travels – all of this material has been released before, so buyer beware. Kaiju: Big Battel is a natural evolution of fandom, a place where love for Japanese Rubber monster movies and backyard wrestling collides into an organization dedicated to entertaining with the exploits of atomic age foam latex laden characters whupping on each other with amateur wrestling moves.

Apparently this began as an indulgent project (of Boston? art school students, I think) and made its way onto the web (www.kaiju.com). The website explains the concept like this-

"Kaiju Big Battel is a modern conflict of epic proportions. Scattered throughout the galaxy is a monstrous mob of Kaiju - maniacal villains, ominous alien beasts, and gigantic, city-crushing monsters who are fighting for control of the globe, their volatile tempers periodically detonating into bouts of intergalactic sparring and senseless acts of violence."

The Movie:

Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour is a precursor of sorts to the more recent Boom Boom Huck Jam traveling show that toured around the country in 2003. The basic idea is the same for both tours – a group of the nations best and most famous skaters tour the country and put on a show at different cities across the United States.

This is the third volume of highlights from the tour and the line up for 2002 incldues, besides Tony Hawk, Riley Hawk, Jason Ellis, Mike Excamilla, Jackass extroidinaire Bam Margera, Mike Valley, Buckey Lasek, Eric Koston, Dave Mirra, Shaun White, Alex Chalmers, Colin McKay, Jesse Fritsch, Bob Burnquist, Brian Sumner, Willy Santos, Kevin Staab, Kerry Getz, Kris Markovich, and Rick Thorne.
